Red 27 can laser engrave, laser cut and laser mark wood for your application. Directly “burning” images on wood were some of the first uses of engraving lasers. Hardwoods like walnut, oak, mahogany and maple produce good results. Softwoods can be judiciously engraved but tend to vaporize at less-consistent depths.
Wood veneer and wood of any kind and thickness, laminated, MDF, combined, paper-covered, and two-colored woods can be used. It is possible to engrave raw wood, semi-finished, finished, and even polished wood. On raw wood, the marked lines take on color shades from beige to dark brown.
Wood cutting is mostly used for inlays and is absolutely perfect for achieving very subtle differences.
It is very easy using the laser to produce sophisticated inlay work in wood, mother-of-pearl or even plastic. Veneers may be cut to size with special accuracy using the laser. The great advantage lies in the precision of the cut parts. Positive and negative parts may be cut in very thin materials without correcting the cutting width.
